Hygge is warm, cozy vibes, comfort, and relationship. Hygge is a feeling, and creating this Hygge Tablescape was all about the feeling that comes when you gather around a table with friends.
Creating this Tablescape, I imagined a crisp Fall evening sitting around a table lit with candles while sharing yummy food & wine with good conversation. I wanted a moody vibe with soft neutrals and rich texture.
Linens
This Hygge Tablescape started with a linen table cloth that I found online at H&M Home. I had this vision of oversized linens draping over the table. This tablecloth gave me exactly the vision I was hoping for. I really wanted to keep this Tablescape fairly neutral, so I went with more of a beige colour for the table cloth, and opted for a basic white napkin. I picked up this set of napkins at Homesense.
Dishes
Keeping with the neutral theme, I found some really pretty white scalloped dishes at Ikea and paired them with a beige side plate that I found while browsing Superstore of all places. Tip: Superstore tends to bring in some really nice tableware. Worth a browse every now and then!
After being so inspired by the beautiful Tablescape that my friends and hubby created for my 40th birthday party this past summer, I decided to follow suit and use the same wood rounds they used for that Tablescape and create a bit of a rustic feel to this Hygge Tablescape.
Glassware
One of my inspiration items was these gorgeous rust coloured glasses, also found at Superstore. These became my pop of colour for this neutral palette. I paired them with a basic glass wine goblet from Ikea.
I went with my matte black flatware and love how it added a bold and moody vibe to this Tablescape
Florals
I worked with 5th street florist and Adrianna created this absolutely stunning floral centrepiece with seasonal flowers sourced from some local growers. The tones and texture were the perfect addition to this moody fall Tablescape
Life Giving Words
Every season I love to change up the paper roll that hangs in our dining area. We are in this space every day and I love the words on the paper to encourage and inspire.
My friend Amy is super talented at hand lettering so I always ask her to come and create beauty on a freshly blank piece of this roll.
For this season I chose “progress over perfection” as our words to live by and I believe it’s very fitting for our Family but also hope it encourages those who sit around this Hygge Tablescape.
I hope this has inspired you to bring a bit of Hygge into your home this season:)
Until Next Time,
Pin for Later!
