One of my favourite decor jobs to date was Mila’s nursery and to be honest the thought of her growing out of that space kind of made my heart hurt. I still remember the excitement of planning her little space and the joy it brought to me. I knew with the right vision and mindset, the Toddler Girl Bedroom Refresh could be just as fun!
Knowing that I could have just as much fun adding some “big girl” vibes to her already adorable space, We started the transition from nursery to toddler room once she was a few months past 2 years of age. I knew I wanted to keep the basics of the nursery we had grown to love and just transition a few pieces and bring in a few new decor items.
I love the finished product! We kept the soft and cozy vibes of her Nursery with some muted pastels for a bit of contrast and colour.
This post contains a few items that were gifted to us in exchange for post mentions. We only working with brands that fit our family style and interests. All opinions are our own.
Bed
The bed we chose is the Minnen Extendable Bed from Ikea. It’s an extendable toddler bed and I love how it already has a side rail effect. This bed has made her transition from crib to bed so easy!
Wall Decals
We worked with Urban Walls previously for Mila’s nursery and I was thrilled to work with them again! Their wall decals are incredibly easy to apply and remove so they are a perfect solution for quick and easy bedroom refreshes! We went with the Mini Ombré Rainbows and they are perfect for her space!
Rugs and Decor
Some other additions we made to create this fresh new space were an area rug, baskets and the sweetest cotton garland from Lorena Canals
Final Touches
Most of the other items I used to pull this space together were items we already had. I love moving special items around and giving them new homes. Some of our favourite lovey’s are the Cuddle and Kind Dolls.
I also picked up the sweetest white bedding set from Winners and it has cute little subtle pom pom’s.
Putting all the final touches in place has to be my favourite part of any room refresh. Its like my little stamp of love on a space! We are now all set for a few more years until its time to add even more “big girl” touches:)
