Mila’s nursery has been one of the most enjoyable spaces to decorate.  I’ve had so much fun taking my vision for this space and seeing it come to life!  Having a cozy space that she could grow into and a place where we would make the sweetest of memories was very important to me.  A real labour of love and I really love how it has turned out.  Click here to read the first post I wrote about her nursery.  We’ve since made some changes and were able to accessorize with an area rug and baskets as well we added some cute decals to her walls! Here are some of the updates we’ve made to her nursery:)

Polka Dot Fun

Earlier this year, we added some fun Ombre dots to her walls thanks to a fun collaboration with Urban Wall Decals.  It added just the cheery vibe that we wanted to this space now that our Mila girl had started to grace us with the sweetest little happy personality!

Adding warmth with Lorena Canals

One thing this space was missing was an area rug.  With laminate flooring, the room was missing that touch of “cozy” that carpet can bring to a space.  I do love the cleanliness that hard surface flooring brings but an area rug I find always completes a space.  I had been searching for months for the perfect rug.  I didn’t want to buy a rug “just because”, I wanted it to fit the style of the room, be functional, and the right size.

Another concern I always have with area rugs is how to keep them clean.  Kids and pets are messy and somehow spills and messes always seem to gravitate to an area rug.

I was beyond thrilled when I found the Lorena Canals line of area rugs.  They ares WASHABLE! Like I’m talking, pick it up, throw it in the washing machine and walk away kind of washable! You have no idea how excited this made me!  It was exactly the kind of rug that I knew would fit our busy (and messy) lifestyle.

There were a ton of great options to choose from but I went with the Bereber crisscross pattern.  I felt that this one would work well in a variety of spaces and grow with Mila’s room through the years.

Baskets for all the “things”

Also from Lorena Canals, we got 2 cute little baskets.  I love using baskets to store toys, blankets, and more.  We chose the Natural Nude with the cute little pink pom poms and we just love the cute touch it adds.

I’m sure this little room will continue to change as Mila grows and I look forward to sharing it with you!  Until next time….
